Why a Cordless Handheld Vacuum is Better Than The Alternative

In the world of cleaning, portable cordless vacuums have come a long way. They are now smaller, lighter, and more powerful than ever before. But of all the vacuum cleaners available today, why go with a cordless handheld vacuum instead of a corded unit or a larger machine?

It all depends on your cleaning needs, but you’d be amazed at what a good handheld cleaner can do nowadays.

Caring For The Car

Vacuuming CarOne of the biggest pains for me is trying to vacuum out my car. Dragging out my large upright, finding a close enough socket, locating the attachments and the extension hose, hooking everything up, then trying to manhandle this giant behemoth around the car is one of my nightmares.

Now that I have my handheld vacuum I don’t have to worry about any of that.

With a cordless machine, there’s no cord to get tangled under the tires, nor do I need to locate a nearby socket. The size is just right, too, easy to carry and manage as I climb in and around my car. Many of the newest handheld vacuums come with hoses and attachments making it very easy to reach those hard to reach crevices.

Stripping The Stairs of Dust and Dirt

StaircaseFor me, using my big vacuum on the stairs is simply unmanageable. Whenever I try to use my hose and attachments, it doesn’t seem to do as good of a job.

Since going with the handheld, I’m able to truly deep clean the rugs on my stairs.

It’s so much easier to vacuum the stair surface and the vertical part of the stairs, an area I never used to clean until I got a small handheld machine. Instead of having pet hair fall from the side of the stair onto the step, that source of dog fluff is gone.

Getting into the corners of the stairs near the wall and banister is now a lot easier. I used to have this gray lingering soot-like substance in the corners.

Now that it’s gone, my stairs look better than they ever have.

Super Suction and Power Without the Size

No longer do the smaller vacuums lack in suction power. In the past, weak suction made cleaning up difficult, but now, these appliances rival bigger machines. You don’t have to worry about them losing cleaning ability as the dust cup starts to fill up either.

Battery powered vacuum cleaners have come a long way when it comes to power. Batteries now have a long run time. If you plan on using your machine a lot, some come with removable batteries, meaning you can charge one while the other is in use. The issue of battery “memory” where a battery goes bad over time is all but gone, too. Frequent charging no longer harms your batteries.

Prices continue to drop as technology becomes cheaper and cheaper. Past units could run as high as $500 but today, there are comparable machines available at 1/3 the cost. As you can see, cordless handheld vacuums are amazing tools and can even be considered as the best type of handheld vacuum to buy. They’ll keep your entire house clean and free of dust, dirt, and allergens.
